Your plants or crops most certainly deserve the best water, because pure water is essential to their healthy growth.
GrowMax Water USA
GrowMax Water USA created a simple and highly effective line of water filtration systems designed and engineered for the dedicated home gardener. They started as a group of gardeners who realized that their tap water that they were using on their gardens contained chlorine and many other unacceptable contaminants.
After some research, they partnered with GrowMax Water™ in Europe in order to give fellow gardeners in the USA a chance to grow cleaner produce.
Quality water is essential to quality plant growth in an organic garden. GrowMax filtration systems give you peace of mind knowing you are reducing the chlorine, pesticides, and other contaminants in water used for gardening.
FAQs
Benefits
What is the benefit of using filtered water in your garden or greenhouse?
When you water plants with chlorinated water, beneficial bacteria are destroyed. These bacteria are beneficial to root health and assist plants to effectively absorb minerals and nutrients necessary for growth. Using water that is free of common contaminants such as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) improves overall plant growth. This helps you achieve maximum growth and production from fruits, vegetables, herbs and decorative plants.
What are Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and how do they harm plants?
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are gases that were released from certain materials or fluids. These VOCs can vaporize into air and dissolve into water. Many different household items can contain organic solvents, including paints, varnishes, and wax. Useful cleaners such as disinfectants, degreasers and hobby products contain solvents as well. VOCs can limit growth of plants. This includes limited leaf growth, reduced flowering, lower seed production and VOCs overall have the potential to reduce the vigor of your plants. Using filtered water reduces or eliminates the impact VOCs can have on your garden.
What contaminants do the GrowMax Water™ systems eliminate and is waste water produced?
GrowMax Water™ filtration systems are designed and engineered to reduce and remove chlorine, pesticides and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), as well as sand, rust, oxides and other solids. The result is clean, contaminant free water. There is no waste water produced by this process so all the clean water goes directly to your plants.
Is filtered water better for plants than well water or rain water?
Up to 500 different VOCs have been found in groundwater. Rainwater can contain pesticides and other contaminants that are absorbed from the atmosphere. Using filtered water provides the best water possible because undesirable environmental contaminants have been removed.
Choosing and Caring for Your Filter
What size filtration system should I select?
The volume of water you require will determine the best filtration system for your needs. The SUPER GRO 800 is the most in demand and popular system. This system delivers over three gallons of clean water per minute and can be easily attached to a hose or existing irrigation system. The ECO GROW 240 System is recommended for small gardens, patios, and indoor or potted plants. For higher volume applications, such as community gardens, commercial hydroponic use, and other large areas, upgrading to the PRO GROW 2000 is recommended.
How frequently do I have to replace the filters?
The GrowMax™ filtration systems use a dual filtering process featuring the MaxPur™ five-micron sediment filter and CleanGreen™ carbon block filter. The GMW CleanGreen™ carbon block is rated to treat between 10,000 gallons (ECO GROW 240), 15,000 (SUPER GROW 800) or 25,000 gallons (PRO GROW 2000) of garden water. So, it all comes down to how much water you are using. Generally, the filters need to be changed every 6 and 12 months. It is recommended to change both filters at the same time for best performance.
Do the GrowMax Water™ filtration systems need to be winterized and how is this done?
Yes, winterization is required to ensure your filtration system continues to function year after year. This must be done before temperatures reach freezing (32° F). Good news is that winterizing is quite simple. Turn off the water supply first. Then remove the filter housings and filters. Empty any leftover water from the housing and store in a dry, protected place until you are ready to turn your system back on in the spring. Make sure that the O-ring is still in place and doesn’t fall out while emptying the water.
