The two-tray system enables you to produce your own fertilizer constantly. Once one tray is full, start the next one on top. The worms will migrate into the top as soon as they are done at the bottom.
The trays have drainage at the bottom so that worm tea is not building up. It can flow into the bottom of the worm farm. This is crucial for airflow and a good composting process. Worms and debris cannot fall into the tea collection tray because of the worm-saver tray. You can easily pull it out and clean. You can collect up to 0.5 gal of tea which you can use for fertilizing your plants as well.
